Kuala Lumpur, 2 February 2021 – Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation (Bioeconomy Corporation) is pleased to announce the appointment of YBhg Dato’ Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid as its new Director and Chairman on 25 January 2021. Appointed by the Honourable Prime Minister, Dato’ Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid succeeds Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun who resigned on 29 September 2020.
With over 20 years of experience in the corporate world, Dato’ Iskandar Dzulkarnain has led companies across various sectors including property and real estate investments, housing development, tourism, infrastructure, telecommunications, and financial services. He currently holds directorship positions at Miqhail Holdings Sdn Bhd, Property Builder (Kuala Kedah) Sdn Bhd, and PT Pinang Witmas Sejati and is the Chairman of Perak Agro Oil Palm (Argoto Sdn Bhd).
Dato’ Iskandar Dzulkarnain is also the Head of the Kuala Kangsar Division of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) since 2019 and became a member of BERSATU’s Supreme Leadership Council in 2020. In 2019, he was appointed as the board member of Royal Perak Golf Club and Treasurer of Perak Football Association (PAFA). He was formerly the Political Secretary to the Perak Chief Minister from 2018 to 2020.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business and human resources from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
